Hidden field within RTF

Is there any method where I could have an item stored within an RTF (not

RVF) that is hidden and automatically transmitted between

SaveRTFToStream and LoadRTFFromStream?

I would prefer to store and retrieve an integer value that is not

normally displayed within the RTF.
